Dr. Stacy Cecchet

Forensic & Operational Psychology

Dr. Stacy Cecchet earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in behavioral pediatric psychology and a second postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology. Dr. Cecchet is board certified in couple and family psychology. She is a practicing operational and forensic psychologist, criminal profiler, and is a published author and lecturer in her field of practice. Dr. Cecchet has more than 80 publications and presentations in her field of expertise.

Law Enforcement & Criminal Psychology Focus

Dr. Cecchet is the forensic and operational psychologist for both the Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) and the Idaho ICAC Task Force. She works as a forensic psychologist and criminal profiler for the Cold Case Foundation, and is the chair of the sex abuse review board for the Conventual Franciscans of California. She works nationally to provide consultation and training internationally across all branches of law enforcement on: child pornography; child torture; sex trafficking; working with victims of sexual trauma; secondary and vicarious trauma; rape; sex offender typologies; and law enforcement wellness and resiliency.

Specialization in Trauma & Violent Sex Crimes

Dr. Cecchet’s specializations include: Internet Crimes Against Children (i.e., child pornography/child sexual abuse material, online victimization of children); sex trafficking; child sexual abuse; child torture; missing children; and serial sexual offenses. She has conducted a significant number of evaluations assessing psychosexual risk/sexual deviancy, trauma, psychopathology, risk for violent crime, psychopathy, child abuse, competency, and diminished capacity. Dr. Cecchet works closely both in a clinical and consultative capacity on child sexual abuse cases with local, state, and federal agencies across the country.
